This new refund policy will take effect on June 1, 2023.
We understand that circumstances can change, and we want to ensure that our refund policy is transparent and fair to all participants. Our Basic Skills Course and Refresher Course fees are non-refundable, except in cases of extenuating circumstances.
Candidates who withdraw from the course due to extenuating circumstances, such as a medical emergency, unexpected family or work obligations, or other circumstances beyond their control, may be eligible for a partial refund or credit towards a future course. The refund or credit amount will be prorated based on the percentage of the course completed before the withdrawal and will require documentation of the extenuating circumstances.
Please note that candidates who withdraw from the course for any other reason will not receive a refund or credit towards a future course.
Eligible reasons for extenuating circumstances include, but are not limited to:
- Medical emergency (candidate or immediate family member)
- Injury that interferes with course activities
- Household changes (death in the family, getting married or divorced, having a baby or adopting a child, moving residence to a different ZIP code)
- Job loss or other significant loss of household income
- Military or other formal service
- Technical difficulties preventing access to the course
- Displacement or life disruption due to natural disaster
To request a refund or credit, candidates must submit a request form through our website. The request form will ask candidates to select the reason(s) for their request and to provide any supporting documentation they have available. We may follow up with candidates through a phone or email conversation, to discuss their situation in more detail or request additional documentation.
The refund amount will be determined based on the percentage of the course completed by the candidate at the time of withdrawal. Refunds are only granted in cases of extenuating circumstances, and not all requests may be approved.
Payment plan candidates will not be eligible for a refund or credit if they withdraw from the course.
