PAL is visible but not active

When a PAL is disabled, the abbreviations defined in that PAL will not expand. If you know your PAL is intact but it's simply "not working," this is usually the reason why!

Open your Personal Abbreviation List in TypeWell by clicking Ctrl-A. Hover over the PAL tab (aka the name of that particular PAL list, of which you might have one or multiple) − in this screenshot, the list is called "Everywhere2" and the mouse is positioned over that PAL tab, revealing a tooltip indicating that it's Disabled:

Note that the disabled PAL in the screenshot above also appears grayed-out.

To enable that particular PAL, right-click on the tab to reveal a menu of options and select "Enable."
